Online multiplayer gaming can be a very frustrating experience. We have all been there. We first get the game......... We install it and are very excited to play and then boom!!! you suddenly realize that its not that easy, its not like the last game you mastered. You are continually being killed and not getting many kills. You don't know the maps, you don't know the controls, you don't know the weapons etc. Just as your figuring something out, you get killed again.... very frustrating!! But you do get a satisfying kill every now and then and you can see the addiction to the game and you want to quickly master it.

While you are in this "noob" stage, you are simply wanting to figure the game out!! You might not be as good as some of the other player, you might not have as much battle savy. All of the l33t players are calling you and idiot, you are calling them (at least thinking) assholes. Its always nice when one of the l33t players recognized your inexperience and tries to help you out. Polite tips or just showing you how its done without calling you an idiot.
Soon you get your skills up and you finally (truly) understand the game. You see some of the newer or more casual gamers making the same mistakes you did when you first started. The are usually the one that are holding your team back and that's very frustrating. Everything seems so clear to you now and you really see how stupid you were when you first started playing the game.
Problem with many gamers is they tend to forget that they too were once a noob and they become the asshole complaining about the idiots (noobs) now. When the fact is any public server is going to have a mix of L33t's and Noob's. Fact is, most well designed games have the "noob factor" built into the game. Its a complicated task but a good game will make it enjoyable right out of the box and after many hours of game time. Its not perfect but its how most games are built.
So next time your bitching about some idiot not playing the game exactly as you would, remember they are either A) not as skilled as you or B) not as experienced. Either way, they deserve the opportunity to learn the game just as you did.
Yes, I get very frustrated myself and sometimes I can't help but call someone an asshole (or at least think it). But I usually find it better to just ignore them and try to not let them ruin my enjoyment for the game(s).
